Department of Persian

The Department of Persian was established in the year 1935. The founder teacher of the Department was Moulana Abdul Karim Mazumder. His tenure spanned from 1935 to 1945. Then the Department was run by Mehrab Ali Laskar, whose tenure spanned from 1946 to 1974. Subsequently, the charge of the Department was taken up by Hachim Ali. He worked from 1975 to 2010. Simultaneously, Abdur Rehman joined in the year 1976 and retired in the year 2011. The charge of the Department was then taken up by Dr. Shahin Ahmed Barbhuiya in the year 2012. He is the present HOD of the Department. The Department is also enriched with the services of Dr. Begum Ayesha Sultana Laskar who joined in the Department in the year 2015.

The Department of Persian has catered into the aspirations of students in the society to study the Persian Language. The Department has been instrumental in building the platform for the students of the Department to pursue higher studies in the subject. Since the Persian language is considered as one of the sweetest language, therefore, there is a need to enliven the language with imparting of the academics in connection to the language.
